The majority of single storey extensions are exempt from planning however this should be checked and clarified by Dublin City Planning Authorities. Some of the main reasons for extending would be:

  • To maximise your living area to its full potential
  • To add downstairs toilet and utility area
  • To increase natural light
  • To add value to your home
